Reframing domesticity
Set discreetly in the Flemish landscape, Frederic Kielemoes’ own home is rather a pavilion that blurs the lines between residence, workspace and quiet retreat. Light and proportion lead the design. It is almost devoid of doors and a natural flow blends one space into the other. This is an architecture that prefers suggestion over separation.
“We didn’t want a traditional house,” Frederic explains. “It’s more about rhythm than rooms — a place that reflects how we live, not how we’re told to. The boundaries are there, but they are softened, they breathe.”
