When Frederic was approached to create an interior just using grey shades, he got intrigued by his client's demand. He set off on a mission to bring depth and warmth within this seemingly limited colour scheme.
‘I was intrigued by my client’s demand to create an interior just using grey shades. The first material that featured in my mood board was a natural stone called 'Mystic Grey', which was chosen for its vivid pattern. For the lacquers used on the veneered surfaces, I chose a lead-coloured grey. The tall storage and the large pieces of wall panelling were constructed in larch, a durable timber with a lively woodgrain. It was coloured and brushed many times over to achieve a dark and nuanced finish. Finally, all the metalwork and the taps were treated to achieve a warm, grey look.'
